Q&A

ancient column from Pergamon

1/What is the therapist's approach to confidentiality and privacy?

We firmly believes in the fundamental importance of maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and privacy. As a guiding principle, anything you share in your sessions will be treated as strictly confidential and is protected by client-therapist privilege.

Information shared during therapy sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed without the client’s informed consent, except where reporting is required by law, such as situations where there is a risk of harm to oneself or others, child abuse or neglect, or in the case of a court order.

Pergamon Mental Health employs robust data security measures to protect personal information. Paper-based records are securely stored and electronic information is safeguarded using advanced encryption technologies. Our support team is happy to discuss these privacy and confidentiality procedures in more detail, should you have any questions or concerns. Your peace of mind is our utmost priority.

2/How long is each therapy session, and what is the frequency of sessions?

Each therapy session is 60 minutes long. This hour includes time for the therapeutic conversation, as well as a few minutes at the beginning and end of the session for any administrative matters, such as scheduling future appointments or addressing any questions.

The frequency of sessions is determined on a case-by-case basis, as it depends on individual needs, goals, and progress. Generally, therapy often begins with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a therapeutic relationship. As clients make progress, sessions may be scheduled less frequently, such as bi-weekly or monthly. However, it's important to note that this is flexible and can be adjusted based on the client's comfort, availability, and the nature of the issues being addressed.

Our therapist is committed to providing personalized care that best supports your mental health journey. If you have any further questions about the structure of therapy sessions or wish to discuss your specific needs, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

3/What is the cancellation policy and procedures for rescheduling appointments?

We understand that unexpected circumstances can sometimes require a change to your schedule. However, in order to provide the highest quality service to all clients, we have the following cancellation and rescheduling policy:

  1. Cancellation: If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to other clients who may be waiting for a session. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the full cost of the session.

  2. Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule an appointment, we also ask for at least 24 hours' notice. We will make every effort to accommodate your new preferred time and date, although we cannot guarantee the immediate availability of specific time slots.

  3. Late Show up: If you are late for an appointment, please note that the session will still end at the originally scheduled time. This ensures that subsequent clients are not kept waiting. Late arrivals will be charged the full session fee.

  4. No-shows: If you fail to attend a scheduled session without providing any notice, you will be charged the full session fee.

These policies are designed to respect the time and commitment of our therapists and other clients. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible via phone or email. We're here to assist you and make the process as straightforward as possible.

4/Do you accept insurance?

While we understand the value and convenience that direct insurance billing can provide, at  this moment, our practice does not directly accept insurance. We operate on a fee-for-service basis, which means payment is expected at the time of service.

Our goal is to make your experience with Pergamon Mental Health smooth and enjoyable for you. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding our payment policies, please do not hesitate to contact us.
